Final image

This is image i will digitally print onto my dress, just need to put it all together now

Artwork

my ideas of transforming art into print, these are inital ideas for a maxi dress: in a fashion illustation

Inital work with florals

taking inspiration from the designers I've researched.
Ok it's my turn and as I've already said i really want to follow the path of floral print, but how can i make it sustainable? If it was up to me I'd only own one dress, that awful feeling when ur away from home and your friends suggest you all go out and you really don't wnat to have to drag your self all the way back to your wardrobe. If touch up pallets of our favoirite make up are readily avliable then why not touch up clothing, from work to the park or out for a drink, a reversable dress with an interechnageable hem line and removeable sleaves, conservative to playful in a few moments, never caught out ever again. Prehaps a little peak at ammericn apparel for some insperation.
This is american apparel's le sac dress that can be worn in sooo many ways, one dress with endless possibities. With a dress this versitile a women would only ever need one. As much as i adore this dress i want something more structued, less sac more sophisticated.

The label in your clothes may say 'made in Cambodia' but what part? the final stages of the garment may have been done in Cambodia but where was the fabirc made, where did the dying take place, who designed it, unfortunately this list would read like a jet set holiday across the world skipping from country to country track cheap labor. This must stop decided Rianne De witte as she embarked on a mission: making sure she knows exactly where everything is grown, processed and finished and that each oof theses stages are fair and sustainable, a very worthy cause, and the coats not bad eaither.

Waste not want not. Mark Lui cleverly uses every last scrap of fabric in trimmings and applique items on his dresses yet the clean white fabrics and cuts mean that these dresses are less Christmas tree and much more minimalist elegance: pure genius.

a trio of designers: Shophie Dupuy, Camille Dupuy and Eddie le Derf make beautiful hand crafted pieces each one is slightly different, this started me thinking, if you created clothing with prints of one off artworks then the owener would not only have a garment but also an investment in the art world, something to follow up.

I saw this and fell in love. This amazing dress was created from old kimonos by designer Tatsuki Takino and inspired my own floral printed work. the delicate flowers look just like drawings. This dress is a testament to the old saying ' one mans trash is another mans treasure' simple gorgeous.

how long does it take to grow back a rain forest?

about 200 years.

I will be the first to admit my near scary love of shopping, new clothes are my junk! but dispite my reading of magazines, stalking of blogs and downloading of podcasts all in the never ending quest to gain new fashion knowlede i remiand very ignorant and chose to ignore what my frantic consumer habits were doing to the world (yes, oki i appreciate this all seems a little tree hugger, hear me out.) our throwaway society is damaging the lives of others and the world we live in. time for change i say: eco friendy fashion no longer means HEMP!! these designers have all done thier bit to help smooth out the detremental flaws in the clothing industry and create enviable and down right beautiful clothing.I want to try and do the same. Fashion addict turned eco warrior...it might catch on.

how long does it take for nails to grow 5mm?

this question dominated my life as i tryed to grow out my short bitten nails and as i was informed it takes about a month and a half. but this all seems so silly and irrelevent after all i have lernt in the past few months studying sussianable fashions: here's my tale.
